We old.

Mark it down folks. 8-27-14 we got our first "I think it's so cool you guys are still traveling. I hope I'm still traveling when I'm …married."
There ya have it. We old.
I'm going to go drown myself in my Metamucil.

Why so serious? Sketch #2

Beer Review #1 - Oaxaca

Figured I'd get back to doing what I do best. Drinking beer and writing about it.

Mama Grande Cerveza: Quiche Oaxaca
5.5 ABV

This is the first "artisanal" beer I've had in Mexico. Mostly it's been your typical Mexican Piss. Corona. Victoria. XX. Etc.
This beer however is a winner. Seriously, I wish I owned a fridge full of it.
Chocolately. Coffee notes. Dark. Cold. Not heavy like most stouts/porters. (they call this a Porter, but I think of it more as a stout.)
We found it at a local mezcalaria called Quiche. The mezcal tasted like pure gasoline, this beer tasted like heaven.

I give it 4 out of 5 drunk leprechauns. (that's my new rating system. Like it? )

Say Cheese

Picking up a pencil.

I used to draw a lot. Wallpaper my room with countless sketches of Batman, Batman, and well Batman. What can I say? I really relate to the guy.

I like to think my love of comic books created my love of comic book art which inspired me to learn how to draw. At first I really sucked. Batman was always too fat, and his proportions were always wrong. Torso longer than legs, head 2 sizes too big, etc. but after years of practice I got pretty good. I was a human xerox machine. Give me something to reference and I could freehand it perfectly.

And then freshman year happened.

After working on a drawing of The Joker for more than a week, I returned to my dorm room to find someone had taken a red magic marker and drawn a giant happy face on it. After punching a hole in the wall, I put down my pencils and never drew again.

Fast forward 20 something years, to a beach town in Mexico, where I finally got the nerve to try again.

Lets hope no one in the town owns a red magic marker.

Go Ninja. Go Ninja. Go.

My dreams of being a ninja turtle partially realized by sleeping in a sewer pipe. Next katana practice and copious amounts of pizza!

Yup thats what it looks like. A concrete sewer pipe, sliced in half. A wood frame running across the middle to support two sleeping whities who like to spend money on weird things. Super smart idea, I applaud whoever came up with the design. I always knew the sewers beneath our feet were a magical place.
